“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain”
Dolly Parton
Here I am back again, writing after 2020..
What a year!
The year 2020 changed everyone’s life for sure. When you remember the year 2020 what comes in your mind at first, do you feel it was the worst year ever or felt it was life changing?
There have been chapters in the year 2020 where I felt everything was falling apart. People walked away, all plans collapsed and the whole world came to a standstill. When everything seemed unfair, I was left with no choice but to face the cards that were dealt to me. I learned that strength isn’t about avoiding the hard times, it is about learning to stand again.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it really means to be strong.
Not the kind of strength people talk about in motivational quotes, or the picture-perfect version you see on social media. I’m talking about the kind of strength that’s messy, quiet and exhausting. The kind that shows up when life isn’t going the way you hoped it would.
Being honest, sometimes being strong just means getting out of bed in the morning when everything in you wants to hide. Sometimes it’s choosing to smile at someone else even though your own heart feels a little heavy. Even if it is small and steady, that’s enough.
I used to think strong people had it all figured out. That they were always calm, always confident, always in control. But now I know better.
Being strong, at least in my experience, often felt like
- Crying, but still showing up
- Feeling scared, but doing it anyway
- Failing, but not letting that failure define you
Strength is about how you bend, how you heal and how you grow through what tries to shake you. So the next time you feel like you’re not doing enough, remember: the fact that you’re still here, still trying, still breathing, still hoping—that’s strength.
Life will test you
It won’t always knock politely but it storms in unannounced with chaos in its hands. Plans fall apart. Dreams shift. Sometimes, it feels like the universe has conspired against you. But in those moments, strength isn’t just about standing tall but it’s about continuing to stand at all.
We live in a world that often glamorizes hustle and emotional toughness. But real strength isn’t about suppressing your emotions or pretending you’re unaffected. It’s in the balance—between being soft and being resilient, between allowing yourself to feel and choosing to move forward.
Even the strongest people break sometimes. And that’s okay. Strength is not about being invincible—it’s about being real, and still rising.
Some simple ways of building your inner strength
Accept the hard days – Not every day will feel good, but every day has value. Honor the difficult ones.
Talk to yourself like someone you love – Self-compassion is a powerful form of strength.
Let go of perfection – Strength lies in progress, not perfection.
Surround yourself with good energy – People who uplift you and make your journey lighter.
Know what you’re fighting for.
You are stronger than your hardest day
Being strong in life isn’t a finish line you cross—it’s a daily decision. Some days, you’ll feel powerful. On other days, you’ll feel like you’re barely coping up. But each step, no matter how small you take, is still forward.
You are braver than you realise. Keep going.
Even if it’s slow. Even if it’s messy.
Because strength is something that – IT’S ALREADY IN YOU!
If you’re reading this and you’re in the middle of something hard, I just want to say: I see you. Keep going, even if your steps are small. Even if today you’re just surviving. That’s still strength.
And if no one’s told you lately—you’re doing better than you think. You’re stronger than you feel. And you’re not alone in this.

loved reading each word, specially the line – the next time you feel like you’re not doing enough, remember: the fact that you’re still here, still trying, still breathing, still hoping—that’s strength.
