Some people go for looks while for some the nature of the person holds great importance. How important is it for you that the person you want to marry, be with or the people around you should be ‘down to earth‘ as well?
For me personally, it is an important characteristic. Although it is rare to actually find a down to earth person these days. People are so full of themselves, they don’t consider the other one of any importance or less than them just because the other doesn’t like to show off. With the awareness of high-end brands, sense of fashion through social media, the people have become high headed. People have a habit of showing off be it their cars, their accessories or simply the places they go for vacation.
Qualities of people who are down to earth or simple people:
- Comfortable within themselves
- Don’t show off anything and stay low key
- Take pride in one’s appearance
- Doesn’t wear layers of makeup on every date to get the guy
- Has the respect of her/his own sense of style
- Doesn’t need to compare herself to others
- Accepts people as they and how they are
- Does stuff for people and do what’s right for them
- Down to earth woman is completely opposite of a drama queen
- They happily seek the truth whether someone approves of them or not
- Don’t react and are often calm
- Very low maintenance and feel good about themselves
- Even if he/she is wearing a branded piece of clothing/ accessory he/she doesn’t show it off
- Accepts himself/herself in their own skin
- His/her actions will show it
- Simplicity is their best trait
- They don’t pretend to be someone they are not

To everyone who is reading this or close to you please make them understand the true value of being down to earth. Everyone has dreams and aspirations and it is amazing to dream big, but at the same time don’t forget where you came from. When you were struggling who was there standing with you and supporting you in your bad/ tough times. The more down to earth, you are, the higher you will go in life.
It is important to stay grounded. All those who show off and don’t treat anyone as their own or how they actually should fall directly on their faces and no one will be there even to pick them up.
One of my teachers in school who is not only my favorite but my guide my mentor, Ms. Vijay Grover Mam taught me always, we should never forget our roots. That way we will always go higher in life. I really owe it to her. I am what I am and she has played a great role in it.

It is completely true, we should keep our eyes on the stars but feet on the ground. It is the most valuable trait one can have. You will feel totally satisfied with your life. I am grateful to God for giving me the basic necessities of life. He has given me the best of food, a cozy & comfortable house to live in and nice clothes to wear. I personally believe in the funda of “Simple Living & High Thinking“.
It suddenly can’t happen, that one fine morning you wake up and become simple or down to earth. It is like a lifestyle (you clearly know lifestyle change doesn’t happen in a day), a way of living and a number of habits accumulated together. The first step can be to change your daily habits, trying to change your behavior. There is no perfect time to start, Start NOW. Be truthful, be humble and believe that the people will accept you for who you are rather than the one you are pretending to become.
At some time in your life, it won’t be the social status, the money or the job description but how someone treats you and how you treat him/her. Integrity is everything! Think about it!
