My Sister: My Forever Friend

I sometimes wonder what I would have done without my sister? My true best friend, my full-on source of entertainment, the one who cheers me up and my real partner in crime. I love her, care for her, get mad at her, wear her clothes, carry her bags, apply her makeup and do everything. She is my companion for life. Do you have a sibling or siblings?

Now that we are far apart, I miss her so much. I have so many memories of the times we spent together. The amount we used to fight, but then how we used to make up. I have ever-lasting love for her (although I don’t show this to her often). Seeing the movie – Frozen 2 which just came out, makes me miss her even more. She is my Elsa and I am Anna. The bond of siblings is forever. There are things that were simply impossible without her. I couldn’t have done it on my own.

For me, Neha Di is more like my problem solver. She taught me to be generous and selfless. With her, I learned the joy of sharing. There are times when mom is angry with me over something, it is my sister who saves me from her anger and neutralizes her. I am thankful to God for an Elder sibling. With her experience in the world, she tries to make my world a better place.

Do you wish you could have said or done better things with your sibling? 

Now that she isn’t here I sometimes feel, I used to get mad at her, answer her back and not understand what good she was trying to do for me. But I guess in life we get only lessons. Sometimes we waste a lot of time-fighting and holding grudges. Whether it is two sisters, two brothers or brother-sister try to mend your bond. If either of one is away, don’t wait for him/her to call you. Be the bigger person and just text him/her if you just feel like, call without thinking that he/she must be busy.

As life goes by, the sisters will have respective husbands and the brothers get respective wives. But no matter who keeps entering your life because of them, your bond should not change. No doubt, you love your husband/wife, but your siblings are your first and forever love. A gift that God has given you.

No matter how much time you spend in your second home that is your office, with your colleagues and friends but you will always have a place for your siblings which is super special and at the end of the day, you just miss them. You rely on your sibling as you know he/she will be there even when the world is not.

To everyone who is reading this, cherish the bond you have with your sibling

Remember, all the bad times will not only bring you close to your sibling but it will give you a chance to truly understand one another. Try and focus on your best times together. Mend your relationships and love your siblings unconditionally. Don’t wait for a perfect moment as it will never come. Whatever you feel for your siblings, do share your thoughts. Tell them how you feel. They will be supportive of you no matter how much trouble you get yourself in.
