work culture

When we were young, we couldn’t wait to grow up. We wanted to do whatever we wanted. Go wherever we wanted and whenever we could.  How is it working out for you now?

While in college, studying your favorite subject and developing a professional career, you are totally unaware of how life would be when you start working. You often have numerous thoughts about the first day at work. You think about the clothes you would wear to the workplace, the bag you would carry as well as the watch you will wear. Totally being unaware whether your workplace would be a healthy place to go or an environment which is toxic for you.

You have multiple thoughts about your professional life and the place you are going to enter. Your workplace is your second home. You spend major hours of your day at your workplace. Whether you are working in an MNC or a small company, the issues you face are pretty much the same. People from all sorts of cultures and religions are present in the same working environment. The incidents that happen throughout the day affect you in some way or the other, whether you wish to believe it or not.

Do you question yourself now, is it worth it?

When you started working, it was understood that you had to follow the policies and programs of the company. Sometimes the people are not bad or toxic but it is the position due to which they behave in such a way. You must have observed that you were being assigned more work than your junior. For position and power, people will try to let you down and outsmart you in front of your boss. For cost-cutting, you are paid less than what you actually deserve.

The mood you are in when you are at your workplace is the mood in which you go home. This ultimately affects your home life. This way your work life balance is also disturbed. It is often expected from you that you carry the work home but you are never paid extra for this extra time over time. You are not given leaves furthermore for every leave you take, you are being questioned. At such a time, you think why did you ever join the place at the very first place? You simply feel stuck.

Signs your culture at work is harmful:

  • Hierarchy – Your colleagues do not follow a hierarchy, as a result, the whole office faces a problem. There is no transparency between the employee and the boss.
  • Management – The management has issues within its superiors, thus there are no clear instructions. The major problem in an organization is cost cutting.
  • Target – The employees are often targeted. Incorrect information is given to the super boss. There are groups within a small team.
  • Work Culture – Overall office environment makes you anxious. People poke you, as a result, you lose patience and fight.
  • Salary – The employees are never given the salary on time. When you spend from your pocket, the office reimbursements are never done timely.
  • Recreation – This toxic work culture offers no outings or recreation. With a 6 day working culture, you feel exhausted. You are questioned on all your breaks.

All these factors affect your mind, body, and soul. You want to put an end to this. But you wonder from where to start?

All of us want to work in a positive environment. It will impact our happiness, our satisfaction to work and our life. Keep in mind, you can’t fix something that you don’t perceive as broken.

An incredible culture can spare an office from losing its team.

It is rightly said,

In weak companies, politics win. In strong companies, best ideas do
